Power plus – Evolution Complete?

Polymer technology has moved on more in the last ten years than in the previous fifty.

However, there have been problems. Most hi tech lines needed special knots. Many couldn’t take abrasion, often to such an extent that they couldn’t be used on reels at all. Twisting, kinking, springiness; you really had to know what you were doing to benefit fully from the advantages of a high tech line. What wasn’t there was a fully developed product that had not only great strength but had the other vital characteristics that had been developed to the same degree.

Ultima has devoted the best part of two years into creating a line that delivers not only the power, but also the high performance levels of the other key characteristics that most anglers demand. POWER PLUS emerged as a name in the early stages of the project as it so perfectly described the concept behind this line.

Power

Using state of the art hi tech copolymers, great power and strength come as standard. Power Plus is over 70% stronger than lines that were around 20 years ago, but there is so much more to a line than shear strength. The great PLUS with Power Plus is all the extra features that make this line a fantastic performer in almost every situation.

Power plus High Knot Strength

Modern technology now enables higher knot strengths to be achieved than ever previously thought possible. With Power Plus nospecial knots are needed with Power Plus; standard angling knots will deliver close to 100% knot strength and, incredibly, even a simple overhand loop will exceed 85%.

Power plus Balanced Stretch

Designed to give positive contact but with a forgiving nature Power Plus has a medium to low stretch averaging 23%. This gives excellent direct contact with the bait and the fish, but still enough give to avoid snap offs when making over enthusiastic strikes. Power plus Abrasion Resistance Recent Polymer developments have brought huge gains here. Power Plus is 6 times more abrasion resistant and tougher than traditionalquality monos. The abrasion coefficient has been increased from 1.3 to 6.5.

In line with the vast majority of customers requirements Power Plus has been designed to sink making it ideal for feeder and link fishing, as well as most specimen and carp fishing applications.

Power plus Low Visibility

POWER PLUS is available in an olive green colour that takes on the colour from surrounding water conditions and even in clear waters is well camouflaged. Power Plus also has a non flash matt finish which will not spook fish in bright conditions.
